Revolution Global was about to enter a new market in Arkansas and felt it was time for a brand refresh. While we initally visited new creative territories with new logos and brands to match, it was decided to stick to something that looked closer to the current brand so to not lose our current brand equity in the IL market. Therefore, I updated the outline to a solid hex shape and featured a more modernized “R” character inside. The type was then set to a more classic san serif with some added round edges to add familiarity. Once the logo was finalized, a full brand bible was created to set parameters for the brand, from social graphics to plant photoshoots to educational strain bundles for the retail and sales teams to share. The product packaging also received an overhaul: moving the flower from plastic containers to glass jars as well as a new offering of pre-rolls with new packaging to match. The refreshed labels feature color-coded designs to signify the cannabis strain category: teal for indica, purple for hybrid and orange for sativa as well as larger type highlighting the total cannabinoid content as well as its terpene and strain properties (unheard of with other cultivator packaging). For a cannabis product to be legally sold through a dispensary, all product labels must include lengthy regulatory and analytical info which must be printed at the facility, as well as utilize child-resistant packaging. Fruit gummies and chews were also being launched for the first time: soft-touch pouches with metallic accents matched that of the other product labels. Lastly, the brand’s Instagram feed came together nicely with a consistent look for themed posts and strategic posting topics and Revolution Cannabis branded merchandise is currently sold in both IL Enlightened dispensaries.
